How can I get rid of dark patches on the skin?

Dark patches on the skin can be caused by various factors, including age, sun damage, and hormonal changes. These patches are commonly known as liver spots or sun spots, and they can make the skin appear dull and uneven. Fortunately, there are several ways to reduce the appearance of these dark spots, including BBL (BroadBand Light) and laser treatment.

Dark patches on the skin, also known as liver spots, age spots or solar lentigines, are dark, flat spots that usually appear on the face, hands, and other areas that are frequently exposed to the sun. These spots are caused by the overproduction of melanin, the pigment that gives colour to the skin, and can be exacerbated by factors such as sun exposure, ageing, and genetics.

It’s important to remember that dark flat patches on the skin can sometimes be skin cancer – melanoma is known for appearing as a flat dark patch. New and changing dark patches should always be examined by an experienced and qualified doctor before any type of destructive treatment such as BBL, IPL or laser.

The best way to remove sun spots on the face is by using light-based treatment, such as BBL treatment, intense pulsed light or laser. BBL is a non-invasive procedure that uses intense pulsed light (IPL) technology to target dark spots and pigmentation. The light energy is absorbed by the melanin in the skin, which causes it to break down and eventually fade away.

BBL treatment is a safe and effective way to remove dark spots on the face and other areas of the body. The procedure is quick, and most patients experience minimal discomfort. BBL can also improve the overall texture and tone of the skin, leaving it looking brighter, smoother, and more youthful.

BBL treatment results can vary depending on the severity of the dark spots and the individual patient’s skin type. However, most patients notice a significant improvement in the appearance of their skin after just one treatment. For optimal results, it is recommended to undergo multiple sessions of BBL treatment, spaced several weeks apart.
