At Spot Check, we believe in proactive skin care to empower our patients with control over their skin’s health, preventing serious issues before they develop.
Early intervention is key to treating skin cancers. Regular skin checks allow us to detect skin cancers and pre-cancerous conditions at an early stage, potentially preventing advanced disease that can be life-threatening.
We see the skin check as an opportunity to optimise skin health. We offer advice and treatment to reduce skin cancer risk and treat sun damage and other dermatological conditions identified during skin cancer examinations.

Diagnosing certain skin cancers can be challenging, underscoring the importance of consulting an experienced skin cancer clinician.
At Spot Check, you’ll receive a thorough examination from an experienced skin cancer doctor capable of identifying melanoma and other skin cancers. When appropriate, we use technologies such as mole mapping, serial dermoscopic photography, telehealth and spectroscopic analysis that may facilitate even earlier detection.

We strive to offer treatments that combine efficacy, as supported by the best available evidence, with acceptability to our patients. This involves considering factors such as side effects, cost, discomfort, and personal preference to create a treatment strategy tailored to each individual.
We continuously re-evaluate our treatment options based on the latest medical literature and ongoing medical education. As a result, we occasionally introduce new treatments and phase out older ones as our understanding of their efficacy and risks improves.

When recommending cosmetic and other treatments for sun-damaged and ageing skin, we adhere to the following principles:

Instead of suggesting expensive branded skin care products, we recommend well-known ingredients that have been shown to provide measurable results over many years and in multiple clinical trials. In many cases, we prescribe products compounded to our specifications by pharmacists who specialise in skin products.
- Minimal mark-up: We keep our mark-up on retail products to a minimum, ensuring our patients can leave the clinic with the recommended products and treatments at a fair price.
