The cost of removing a mole or other skin lesion varies according to the diagnosis and the method of removal.

  • If we remove a single freckle or seborrhoeic keratosis using cryotherapy, it’s normally done as a single treatment during a medical consultation and is relatively inexpensive.
  • For removing a raised mole or skin lesion using shave excision or electrocautery, there is a one-off fee for the procedure. This doesn’t include any follow-up or scar mitigation treatments.
  • For removing angiomas, telangiectasia and lentigines using BBL or laser, there is a one-off fee for the procedure. In most cases, only a single treatment is required.
  • When removing large numbers of superficial lesions (typically angiomas or seborrhoeic keratoses), we charge a set fee for a given duration of treatment (usually 15 minutes), and we’ll treat as many lesions as you want during this period.
  • If we remove a single raised mole on a highly visible area using radiofrequency surgery, the out-of-pocket expense includes a complimentary LED light session and silicone gel to enhance healing and reduce scarring, as well as a follow-up appointment to check for and treat early signs of scar formation. If a scar does develop, scar remodelling treatments are complimentary for up to 12 months from the date of your initial procedure.
  • If we remove moles using laser, they usually require multiple treatments to resolve completely. The fee includes all necessary treatments for up to 12 months.

A skin cancer doctor examines all moles and other skin lesions before removal. If there is any suspicion of skin cancer, a biopsy and/or dermasensor spectroscopic examination will be performed and there may be extra fees associated with this. In most cases, extra biopsy fees are covered by Medicare.

Specific fees for mole and skin lesion removals are listed on our pricing page.
