Is mole mapping covered by Medicare?

Medicare does not contribute to mole mapping photography or individual skin lesion photography. For several years, skin cancer doctors and dermatologists have been campaigning to have Medicare cover mole mapping, but it seems unlikely that this will happen in the foreseeable future.

Private health insurance

Some private health insurers cover mole mapping. Policies vary between insurers; we recommend that you check with your own insurer for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Discounts are available to pensioners, Health Care Card holders, children under 18 and some DVA card holders.

Please note: Should there be a discrepancy between this page and the pricing page, the most recent and accurate information will be available on our pricing page.
