In Victoria, no formal qualification or experience is legally required to operate a laser in a clinical or cosmetic environment.

We’ve undergone rigorous training and assessment in laser safety, skin cancer management, cosmetic medicine and primary care dermatology. This means we’re familiar with a range of approaches and treatments, and we can work out what will work best for you, taking into account your main concerns, aesthetic objectives, medical safety, treatment preferences and budget.

Safety, professionalism and evidence-based treatment
Treatment at a medical clinic means we focus on diagnosing and managing skin conditions and aesthetic concerns in the way that works best for our patients.
We comply with AHPRA’s strict professional code of conduct for cosmetic procedures. Your safety comes first, and we don’t make unrealistic claims about treatment results.
You’ll have a consultation with a doctor who has years of experience in dealing with the skin and qualifications in dermatology and cosmetic and aesthetic medicine.
Doctors, nurses and dermal clinicians have awareness of and the ability to treat medical skin conditions – not just skin cancer but also sun-damaged and ageing skin and dermatological conditions such as rosacea and melasma.
You’ll avoid the risk of accidentally treating and “hiding” a potentially dangerous skin cancer, and you won’t need a “clearance to treat” as required by most laser clinics.
We can recommend or prescribe the best medications for your skin type and condition.
Dermatologists have advanced expertise in managing all aspects of the skin, and we often refer our patients to dermatologists when they have challenging skin conditions. We make no claims about the standard of treatment provided by dermatologists. However unlike dermatologists, skin cancer clinics don’t require a referral, and compared to a dermatologist, a skin cancer clinic is likely to have a much shorter waiting time before your appointment.
Our skin clinic offers multiple ways of treating skin conditions: laser, intense pulsed light, radiofrequency surgery, LED light therapy, photodynamic therapy, prescription and non-prescription medications and more. Most of these treatments aren’t available in a general practice setting.
